Blue Ridge hike

Over Memorial Day weekend, C and I travelled to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia for some R&R. We went hiking on Sunday, and it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day.

I believe the purple flower is a variety of phlox. It blanketed the hillside.

On Saturday we visited Bold Rock Cidery in Nelson County. I can’t recommend their cider highly enough, particularly the Bold Rock Virginia Apple cider, made entirely from local apples. The taste is crisp and refreshing. I hope their distribution expands to Kentucky soon! Otherwise we’ll just have to make frequent trips to Virginia to stock up.
