Great Outdoors Month

The President has proclaimed June as Great Outdoors Month. I support this proclamation wholeheartedly, as I believe Americans spend too much time in front of their TVs and video games, too much time in their cars and in drive-through lines, and too much time indoors in general.

We have a huge, beautiful, amazing country full of wild, peaceful, breathtaking great outdoors – we should take advantage of it!

I know I spend way too much time inside at my desk at work. There’s not much I can do about that, but I try. In that vein, I’m embracing Great Outdoors Month and will make it my goal to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors at least once a day every day this month. I’m two days behind (I didn’t hear about the proclamation until today), but I knew just how to get caught up today.

Nothing like a ride out in the countryside to get your mind right. We are so lucky to live in this beautiful place.

After my ride, we decided to hit up Red State BBQ for an all-American meal. Brisket for C and Carolina pulled pork for me – you can take the girl off the east coast, but you can’t take the east coast out of the girl!

The BBQ was excellent, by the way.
